Our read on TBFC
BA one-ticket global portfolio with the brakes built in: stocks and bonds worldwide, allocated by a systematic model, at roughly half the fee of the typical allocation fund.
The Fund seeks long-term capital appreciation while maintaining an approach consistent with capital preservation.
Why people hold it
- Costs 0.40% a year against a 0.78% median for allocation funds. For a fund meant to be your whole portfolio, that fee gap is the easiest thing to control.
- Global by construction: U.S., developed international and emerging market stocks and bonds in one wrapper, rather than five tickers you rebalance yourself.
- The mandate names capital preservation alongside long-term growth, so the conservative tilt is written into the fund's own objective, not just its marketing.
- Pays on a quarterly schedule and sits in the upper half of a crowded allocation peer group on our review.
Worth knowing
- Trades lightly for its category. Spreads and order handling matter more here than with the big index allocation funds.
- Cheap versus the category median, not versus the cheapest shelf: index-built one-ticket rivals like IRTR (0.08%) and AOA (0.19%) undercut it. The extra fee buys an active model.
- Launched in 2024 and run to a systematic model rather than a published index, so there is neither a long record nor a benchmark to grade it against.

- 6.3%
How it’s calculated: standard deviation
The sample standard deviation of monthly total returns, multiplied by the square root of 12.
Uses up to 36 complete months, with at least 12 required. Total returns include reinvested distributions.
- 0.76
How it’s calculated: Sharpe ratio
Subtract each month’s Treasury-bill return from the fund’s monthly total return.

Uses up to 36 complete months, with at least 12 required. Each month uses the Treasury yield quoted at the end of the previous month.
- −8.9%
How it’s calculated: maximum drawdown
The largest percentage decline from an earlier peak, using total returns with reinvested distributions.
