Our read on RSSB

ETF.net Research

BMost allocation funds make you split your dollar between stocks and bonds. RSSB stacks them instead: a global equity portfolio with a U.S. Treasury futures layer on top, wrapped in one ETF at 0.39%.

Stated mandate

The Fund seeks long-term capital appreciation.

Why people hold it

  1. 010.39% for a two-sleeve strategy, roughly half the typical expense ratio among allocation funds.
  2. 02The equity leg is global, not U.S.-only. Stacked peers like NTSX and GDE build their layers on top of American stocks.
  3. 03The Treasury futures leg lives inside the fund, a registered 1940 Act ETF, so layering bonds onto stocks doesn't require your own margin account.
  4. 04Trades with reasonable liquidity for a strategy this young, and sits in the upper half of its allocation peer group overall.

Worth knowing

  1. 01Stacking puts more market exposure to work than the cash you hand over, so a stretch where stocks and Treasuries fall together bites harder than in a plain balanced fund.
  2. 02Cash goes out once or twice a year, not monthly. This is a total-return mandate aimed at long-term capital appreciation, not a paycheck.
  3. 03Launched December 2023, so the track record is short and hasn't been through many market regimes yet.
