Our read on each fund
AGGA
UNIYA
In short
AGG Launched in 2003, one of the first funds to pack the entire U.S. investment-grade bond market into a single ticker: Treasuries, corporates and mortgage bonds, three basis points a year, cash paid monthly.
UNIY Most core bond funds copy the Agg and stop. UNIY follows a yield-enhanced version of the broader Bloomberg US Universal index, reshuffling the mix toward higher-yielding corners of the US dollar bond market, at a fraction of the typical category fee.
Stated mandate
AGG The fund seeks to track the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Bond Index, providing broad exposure to the total U.S. investment-grade bond market.
UNIY The fund seeks to track the price and yield performance of the Bloomberg US Universal Enhanced Yield Index before fees and expenses.
