Our read on each fund
BITSC
FDIGA
In short
BITS Most crypto ETFs sell you the pickaxes. BITS holds both sides: long positions in U.S.-listed bitcoin futures alongside companies built around blockchain adoption, actively managed in one ordinary ETF wrapper.
FDIG Crypto exposure through the companies, not the coins: roughly 50 miners, exchanges and digital payments processors, weighted by how heavily they trade rather than how big they are, in a Fidelity-built index priced below the thematic norm.
Stated mandate
BITS The fund seeks long-term capital appreciation by combining long positions in U.S.-listed bitcoin futures with direct or indirect investments in companies positioned to benefit from blockchain adoption.
FDIG The fund seeks to track the performance of the Fidelity Crypto Industry and Digital Payments Index before fees and expenses. It normally invests at least 80% of assets in equity securities or depositary receipts included in that index.

How we measure overlap
Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
