DDMBProShares Ultra Dow30

UVIXF2x Long VIX Futures ETF

In short

DDM The Dow dates to 1896. DDM is the only ETF built to double its daily move: 2x the Dow Jones Industrial Average, reset every single day, for 0.95% a year, running since 2006.

UVIX Most leveraged ETFs juice a stock index. UVIX goes after fear itself: twice the daily move of a VIX futures index, wrapped in a commodity pool. A short-horizon trading tool, by design.

Stated mandate

DDM The fund seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, corresponding to twice the daily performance of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

UVIX The fund seeks daily results, before fees and expenses, equal to twice the performance of the Long VIX Futures Index.

Why people hold it

  • DDM The only ETF that targets 2x the daily return of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Leveraged blue-chip exposure through one ticker, no margin account needed.proshares.com
  • Trading since 2006, and its day-to-day results have stayed close to the 2x daily target across nearly two decades of market cycles.proshares.com
  • Easy to get in and out of for a fund its size, and one of the strongest implementations in its peer group of leveraged bull funds.
  • The 0.95% fee sits near the typical charge for leveraged funds, and it is the standing rate, not a number propped up by a temporary waiver.
  • UVIX A rare pure play on volatility in a cohort dominated by leveraged equity funds: it targets 2x the daily move of the Long VIX Futures Index.
  • The mandate leaves nothing to interpretation: a stated 2x daily multiple against one named index, spelled out in the prospectus. No manager discretion.
  • For a tool you hold in hours or days, liquidity matters most. UVIX is actively traded, one of the stronger showings in its peer group for getting in and out.
  • Running since 2022, so it has a multi-year operating history in a corner of the market where launches often do not stick around.

Worth knowing

  • DDM The 2x target resets daily. Hold for weeks and compounding takes over, so results can land well away from twice the Dow's move, especially in choppy markets.proshares.com
  • The Dow is price-weighted across 30 blue chips, so a high-priced stock swings it more than a far larger company does.spglobal.com
  • Sibling leveraged funds cost a little less: QLD charges 0.89% net of a waiver through September 30, 2027, against a 0.96% gross rate.
  • UVIX The fee is 2.19%, well above what most leveraged funds charge. That drag runs whether volatility spikes or naps.
  • The 2x target resets daily. Over any longer stretch, compounding means results can diverge widely from twice the index move over that same stretch.
  • It is a commodity pool tracking VIX futures, not the spot VIX and not a stock fund, and it has made no distributions in the past year.

How we measure overlap

Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
