FBOTBFidelity Disruptive Automation ETF

HUMNDRoundhill Humanoid Robotics ETF

In short

FBOT Most robotics funds hand the job to an index. FBOT hands it to Fidelity's analysts: about 50 global picks spanning industrial robots, machine vision, autonomous driving and 3D printing, for 0.50% a year.

HUMN The first US-listed ETF built purely around humanoid robots, live since 2025. Roundhill picks roughly 40 names actively, judging which companies are genuinely closest to building the machines rather than tracking an index.

Stated mandate

FBOT The fund seeks long-term capital growth by normally investing at least 80% of its assets in securities of disruptive automation companies.

HUMN The actively managed ETF invests in equity securities of companies involved in humanoid robotics, including robots designed with human-like structures and functions and equipped with advanced sensors, artificial intelligence, and actuators.

Why people hold it

  • FBOT Fidelity's analysts pick the names, and the fund's definition of automation runs from robotics and machine vision to autonomous driving, EVs and 3D printing.sec.gov
  • At 0.50% a year it undercuts the typical robotics and automation fund, and it concentrates in about 50 stocks rather than spreading the theme thin.
  • Born a 2020 Fidelity mutual fund, converted to an ETF in 2023, so there is real live history behind the strategy and holdings posted daily.fidelity.com
  • One of the stronger builds in the robotics and automation group on cost, portfolio construction and risk profile.
  • HUMN The first US-listed ETF dedicated to humanoid robotics, trading since June 2025. The theme is the whole portfolio here, not a sleeve inside a broader automation basket.prnewswire.com
  • Actively managed. Roundhill ranks companies by thematic relevance, reading 10-K filings, company presentations and research, instead of waiting on an index committee's rebalance.roundhillinvestments.com
  • Roughly 40 stocks, and the mandate reaches beyond the US into Asian listings, where much of the robotics supply chain trades.

Worth knowing

  • FBOT Thinly traded next to the giant thematic funds, so bid-ask spreads and order size matter more here.
  • Two peers charge less: BOTT at 0.35% and IBOT at 0.47%.
  • No index to fall back on. Results ride on the manager's calls, and the theme can reach into any sector, so the fund can behave unlike broad tech.sec.gov
  • HUMN The 0.75% fee sits above the robotics cohort median of 0.65%, and well above index-based rivals such as BOTT at 0.35%. Stock picking is what the premium buys.
  • It launched in 2025, so the risk record is still short, and a single-theme book of roughly 40 stocks can move sharply on one company's news.
  • Against the robotics and automation group, its overall standing lands in the lower half, with cost the heaviest weight on it.

How we measure overlap

Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
