Our read on each fund
HYLBA
IFLNB
In short
HYLB Broad-market junk bonds at index-fund pricing: 0.05% a year, a fraction of what the typical high-yield bond ETF charges, spread across roughly 1,300 issues. Running since 2016, it pays monthly.
IFLN Junk bonds with a pedigree. IFLN tracks Bloomberg's enhanced fallen-angel index, owning high-yield corporate debt from issuers that were investment grade until the downgrade came, and it charges less than the typical high-yield ETF.
Stated mandate
HYLB The fund seeks to track, before fees and expenses, the Solactive USD High Yield Corporates Total Market Index. It uses a passive representative-sampling indexing approach.
IFLN The Fund seeks exposure to the Bloomberg US High Yield Enhanced Fallen Angels Index, which represents U.S. dollar-denominated, non-investment-grade corporate bonds. The Fund uses sampling rather than purchasing every index security.
