CCOMFSimplify Chinese Commodities Strategy No K-1 ETF

SOYBBTeucrium Soybean Fund

In short

CCOM Chinese commodity futures are a market most US investors never see. CCOM trades them systematically, long and short, inside a 1940 Act fund that sends a 1099 instead of a K-1.

SOYB Soybeans, straight up. Since 2011 SOYB has tracked a benchmark of soybean futures for future delivery, wrapped so you can buy the bean in an ordinary brokerage account, and it charges less than the typical commodity futures fund.

Stated mandate

CCOM The fund seeks long-term capital appreciation through systematic investment in commodity futures traded on major Chinese exchanges. Its strategy uses systematic long/short models.

SOYB SOYB seeks to track daily changes in the soybean market for future delivery through its benchmark.

Why people hold it

  • CCOM Targets commodity futures on China's major exchanges, a pool of contracts priced by local supply and demand rather than the usual US benchmarks.
  • The models go long and short, so the fund can position for falling contracts as well as rising ones instead of riding one direction.
  • No Schedule K-1. It is built as a 1940 Act fund, so tax time brings a 1099 like any ordinary ETF.
  • Simplify already runs the broad-basket version (HARD); CCOM is the China-only slice for investors who want that exposure separated out.
  • SOYB Fee of 0.63% a year sits under the 0.81% median for commodity futures funds, and under diversified rival PDBC at 0.74%.
  • A single-crop play, not a commodity grab bag: the fund follows the Teucrium Soybean Index, which tracks daily moves in soybean futures.
  • Trading since 2011, a long run for a one-commodity fund, and one of the stronger implementations in its commodity futures peer group.

Worth knowing

  • CCOM The fee is 0.99% a year, above the typical charge among commodity futures funds. That is the toll for a strategy reaching markets few US managers access.
  • Launched in 2026 and lightly traded, so there is not much history to judge and spreads can run wider than in the big commodity ETFs.
  • Not a plain commodity tracker. The short book means results can move apart from a straight long basket of commodities, in either direction.
  • SOYB One crop, one price. Weather, harvest cycles and export demand move soybean futures hard, and there is nothing else in the portfolio to soften it.
  • It is a commodity pool, not a standard 1940 Act fund, so the tax paperwork differs from a stock ETF. Check how that lands on your return.
  • Mid-sized asset base and moderate turnover mean bid-ask spreads can run wider than on the giant index funds, and the payoff comes from price moves, not income.

How we measure overlap

Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
