In short
BBCA Canada, at a discount. BBCA tracks a Morningstar index of roughly 80 Canadian stocks for 0.19% a year, a fraction of what most single-country funds charge, and it has grown into a multi-billion-dollar fund since its 2018 launch.
IZRL ARK's odd one out. Instead of Cathie Wood's team picking stocks, IZRL follows a rules-based index of Israeli-incorporated innovators, equally weighted so the small names carry the same load as the household ones.
Stated mandate
BBCA The fund seeks to track the Morningstar Canada Target Market Exposure Index before fees and expenses. It uses a passive indexing approach to approximate the index rather than outperform it.
IZRL IZRL seeks to track, before fees and expenses, the ARK Israeli Innovation Index. The index targets exchange-listed Israeli companies whose operations pursue disruptive innovation across genomics, health care, biotechnology, industrials, manufacturing, the Internet, and information technology.
