GMODAGMO Dynamic Allocation ETF

KAMOCKensington Credit Opportunities ETF

In short

GMOD GMO's 7-year asset class forecasts, finally wrapped in an ETF. It tilts toward what the firm's valuation models call cheap and away from what they call expensive, shifting between stocks, bonds and alternatives inside one ticker.

KAMO Most bond funds can only buy bonds. KAMO runs a quantitative credit strategy that takes long or short positions across global fixed income, dialing duration and credit risk up or down, and it charges a bit less than the typical tactical fund.

Stated mandate

GMOD The Fund seeks positive total return. It allocates among asset classes using GMO's multi-year return forecasts and relative-risk assessments.

KAMO The Fund seeks income and capital appreciation through an actively managed, quantitative fixed-income strategy that takes long or short positions across credit and other fixed-income segments while managing duration and credit risk.

Why people hold it

  • GMOD 0.50% all-in, about half the typical fee in its tactical-allocation peer group, and a contractual waiver offsets the fees of the GMO funds it holds so costs are not stacked.sec.gov
  • GMO's first multi-asset strategy in an ETF, run by the asset allocation team behind the firm's long-running 7-year asset class forecasts.gmo.com
  • The equity dial can swing between 40% and 80% of assets under normal conditions, so the fund handles the reallocating rather than you selling positions to do it.gmo.com
  • Sits in the upper tier of a crowded tactical multi-asset group on cost and process clarity.
  • KAMO The mandate is unusual for a bond ETF: long or short positions across credit and other fixed-income segments, with duration and credit risk actively managed instead of pinned to an index.
  • 0.92% a year, just under the 0.95% median for its tactical multi-asset cohort.
  • Pays quarterly, and the stated aim is income plus capital appreciation, not price return alone.
  • Stands in the upper half of its tactical peer group on our review.

Worth knowing

  • GMOD New in 2025 and lightly traded so far, which can mean wider bid-ask spreads than the big allocation ETFs.
  • It owns other GMO funds, and the single 0.50% rate leans on a contractual waiver with an expiration date rather than a permanent cap.sec.gov
  • Cheaper tactical allocators exist (ENDW at 0.22%, ONOF at 0.39%), though each runs a different process.
  • KAMO Launched in December 2025, so the live record is short and any read on how the model behaves through a full credit cycle rests on limited history.
  • It does not trade heavily. Limit orders and mid-session trading help keep spread costs in check.
  • 0.92% is a real fee in absolute terms, and a book that can sit long or short will behave differently from a plain bond index.

How we measure overlap

Each holding counts at its smaller weight in the two funds, summed over the full Holdings. Sector, country and asset class use the same rule on each fund’s split. Cash, FX and derivative lines stay out of the counts. Two bond funds get no overlap figure.
