QQQUCDirexion Daily Magnificent 7 Bull 2X ETF

ROMAProShares Ultra Technology

In short

QQQU Most leveraged funds amplify a whole index. QQQU levers seven names: it targets 200% of the Magnificent 7 basket's daily move, and Direxion runs an inverse sibling on the same index for the other side.

ROM The original 2x tech trade. Since 2007, ROM has aimed at twice the daily move of the S&P 500's technology sector: a double dose in a category now stacked with triples.

Stated mandate

QQQU The fund seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, equal to 200% of the performance of the Indxx Magnificent 7 Index.

ROM ROM seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, corresponding to twice the daily performance of the S&P Technology Select Sector SM Index.

Why people hold it

  • QQQU Targets 200% of the daily move of the Indxx Magnificent 7 Index, a fixed roster of leading Nasdaq-listed mega-caps, not a 100-stock benchmark.direxion.com
  • 0.98% net of a waiver through September 1, 2027 (1.00% gross), near the leveraged-bull median. QLD is cheaper at 0.89% net of a waiver through September 30, 2027.
  • A 2x dose, not 3x, and paired with a -1x twin on the identical index, so long and short views run on the same benchmark.direxion.com
  • Sits in the upper half of a crowded leveraged-bull field, and pays out quarterly.
  • ROM Two times, not three. A 2x daily target means smaller swings and less compounding drag than a 3x fund chasing the same sector.sec.gov
  • Live since January 2007, so it has run through the 2008 crash and the full tech cycle since. Long mileage is rare in geared funds.
  • 0.93% a year, flat, with no waiver propping it up. Peer QLD runs 0.89%, but only net of a waiver through September 30, 2027.
  • One of the strongest implementations in the leveraged-bull pack, from an issuer that has run geared funds since the category's early days.proshares.com

Worth knowing

  • QQQU Leverage resets daily. Held longer than a day, results can drift from 2x the index's cumulative move, and choppy markets compound that gap.direxion.com
  • Seven stocks, doubled: one earnings night at a single mega-cap can swing the whole fund.
  • Smaller and more thinly traded than the headline index-based leveraged ETFs, so spreads and order size deserve a look before you click.
  • ROM The 2x target resets at each close, so results over weeks or months depend on the path the sector takes, not just where it ends up.sec.govproshares.com
  • Trades thinner than the category's headline names, so spreads and limit orders matter, especially in size.
  • About 80 tech names from the S&P 500. That is one concentrated sector bet, doubled, in both directions.
